Employee Satisfaction Check-ins

In the last few years, Employee satisfaction surveys have become a thing within most organizations, but there is some miscommunication in regards to what employee satisfaction means.

Employee satisfaction impacts productivity, intention to stay, work ethics, and organizational structure. You can motivate your workers and provide a healthy work environment by creating satisfaction metrics.

Alic Consulting cares about providing the best service possible to our clients and we also care about the needs and satisfaction of our staff. We can help from establishing a culture of "Check-Ins" to defining your Employee Satisfaction needs. We can create forms, surveys and then help you visualize those metrics to help you measure your employee's happiness.

What is Employee Satisfaction?

Employee satisfaction is really how happy an employee is with their job and work environment. The factors that makeup employee satisfaction are stress, leadership, teamwork, pay, experience, work-life balance, and company culture.

There is often miscommunication about employee satisfaction and what is employee engagement, because they are similar concepts that measure different outcomes. Satisfaction can motivate people to fulfill and engage in their roles while at same time allowing people to express themselves physically, cognitively, and emotionally during role performances. An engaged employee is satisfied with their work but the satisfied employee is not necessarily engaged with the job. In general, employee satisfaction can be considered a prerequisite or a base for employee engagement.

How to measure Employee satisfaction

Now that we have established what employee satisfaction is and why it's important, we have to understand that it's equally important to measure it properly.

We at Alic Consulting, care about this and we offer our employees satisfaction surveys and check-ins regularly. It is important in the beginning that you offer your employees a chance to come to you when they have a problem. If you create an environment where your employees trust you with their problems and talk to you, then you will have a better understanding of what is good and bad in your organization. These are some regular check in style questions you can ask your employees.

  • How are you doing today? (Bad, Good, Amazing!)

  • How happy are you with the work you’re doing? (Not satisfied, Satisfied, Very satisfied)

  • Do you feel you are getting the necessary training to do your job successfully? (Yes, No, Could improve)

We advise you to create surveys and send them out once every couple months. Surveys are a great practice and will come in handy when your business starts growing. Once you have more than 10 people on your team, individual check-ins become almost impossible to do with everyone individually. This is when surveys become the best tool to serve your employee satisfaction needs. This is our favorite metric that can help you establish a good relationship with your employees and tend to their needs and problems.
